Overview of the Group Commercial Team

The Group Commercial function is a Centre of Excellence that covers Marketing, Sales, Digital Eco-system and Business Intelligence and reflects the strategic relevance of being data driven, consumer oriented and digital focused.

The role of the Group Commercial team is to provide state of the art business processes & tools, technology & systems, expertise & benchmarking to enable countries to innovate, maximize revenues and optimize cost. The Group Commercial team also plays a crucial role in monitoring and governing commercial performance across all countries; reporting performance to senior leadership and driving specific initiatives into the markets to improve commercial results.

The way the Group Commercial function operates is based on the 'One Company' philosophy of intensive global/local collaboration, co-creation and synergies, with a closely-knit international Commercial expert community.

Overview of the Group Marketing Manager role

Living in an era of unprecedented digital transformation, today’s competitive edge in the Commercial domain is knowing and understanding consumers’ needs, their behavior and having the ability to effectively and efficiently orchestrate the dialogue with consumers across channels.

The role is commercially focused with the ultimate aim of consistently increasing the marketing ROI across all group operations.
The role will be based in Amsterdam alongside the core of the Group Commercial team and will report to the Group Commercial Director.

The International Marketing Manager will coach and support a CRM marketing manager who is responsible for the group-wide CRM platform and operating model.

Regular travel will be needed, in particular to Germany, Spain, France and Spain to work in detail with the local teams and build relationships with key stakeholders.

Key focus areas:

Audience Development

  • Drive global customer intelligence and ‘voice of the customer’ thinking through group-wide approaches for show concept testing, market & customer segmentation and segmented customer journey development.
  • Maximize impact of advertising by deploying group-wide approaches for testing and tracking of campaigns, creative concepts and key messaging
  • Drive the roll-out and ongoing optimization of the group-wide CRM platform and operating model


  • Drive media efficiency by deploying Group-wide media auditing and media agency reviews
  • Drive media effectiveness by deploying Group-wide media performance measurement, benchmarking and media trend analysis in close cooperation with the markets
  • Provide consultancy on media agency selection, media planning and content strategy framework
  • Negotiate Group-wide media partnership (such as with Google and Meta) and act as SPOC.

Coordination and business planning

  • Develop Group-wide processes, standards, KPI’s, metrics and target setting in the marketing domain
  • Contribute to the marketing dimension of the annual budgeting process, the quarterly business reviews and the development of business cases
  • Provide relevant advice, support, insights and dashboards to Group and local marketing teams;
  • Foster learning across the Group through cross-market collaboration and innovation initiatives, sharing of best practices and building a community of internal and external subject matter experts;
  • Work closely with functional leads from other areas.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Around 10 years of work experience (preferably in an international B2C environment such as travel/leisure/hospitality/entertainment/media/communication).
  • Master’s degree from an accredited university.
  • In-depth experience with full spectrum marketing, (digital) media, content creation and management of marketing/media agencies.
  • Fluent in English – working knowledge of Dutch, German, Spanish or French will be a plus.
  • Strong people & project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of driving marketing ROI impact and business results.
  • Combination of strong creative mindset and analytics skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to develop strong relationship between group and local countries.
  • Experience of working with different cultures and working across multiple countries.
  • Willing to travel across Europe.
